What are setbacks?
The term setback means the required distance separating a building or structure from a property line. Setback regulations for buildings are included in the Zoning Code under Title 13, Sec. 13-1-21 to 13-1-28. Setback regulations for accessory structures are included in the Zoning Code Sec. 13-1-140. What businesses can I operate from my home?
Home occupations are allowed in residential districts, as long as they meet certain criteria. If you are considering a home business, please check those criteria in Sec 13-1-15 of the
Zoning Code.

Can I change the zoning designation of my property?
Zoning changes require Planning Commission review and the approval of the Village Board. Applications to amend the zoning classification of a property must be turned in at least 30 days prior to the second Tuesday of the month to be scheduled for a Zoning Commission meeting.
